Final Degree Project and Master's Thesis - Choosing one subject Print

Final Degree Project and Master's Thesis are research projects supervised by a professor that summarize the knowleadge acquired during the study plan. Procedure is as follows, depending on the student's status:
  • Incoming students* must enroll before the register
  • Outoging students can check the specific process in this link
 
 Rules and regulations

Students who enroll this February (Q2) the last subjects, in July (after the Curriculum Evaluation) can add the PFC/TFM in their enrollment if they pass these subjects and have the PFC/TFM registered. In this case, when they modify their enrollment, it is necessary deliver the PFC/TFM with a proposed committee, and the PFC/TFM must be defended before September 10.


If your Final Degree Project/Master’s Thesis is not evaluated during the same semester that it was enrolled for the first time, your enrollment will be automatically extended during the following semester (it is necessary to pay the administrative services through e-Secretaria)

Choosing one subject
  • Students can check the List of Project proposals (check related links)
  • Professors can propose subjects to students
  • Students can propose subjects to professors

Projects can be performed by two students if required.


Kinds of projects
There are three different (check the specific norms and regulations on the related links):
 
A: at ETSEIB
  • Supervisor: Professor
  • Public defense: ETSEIB

B: at one company
  • Supervisor: External supervisor
  • Committee: Professor
  • Public defense: ETSEIB

C: international exchange
  • Supervisor: External supervisor
  • Coordinator: Professor
  • Public defense: university or research center with a bilateral agreement
  • Qualification can be validated

Explanation:
  • Professor: Professor working at ETSEIB or at one department
  • External supervisor: Professional not related to ETSEIB


Development After choosing one subject and one supervisor, students need to perform the research regarding the specific norms and regulations. You can check the related links for further information.
Moreover, there are some Master programmes with specific norms:
  • MSc Chemical Process Engineering
  • MSc Polymers and Biopolymers
  • MSc Logistics, Transport and Mobility

Students and supervisors must have regular meetings to guide the elaboration process.
